Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love and relationships: tending to old flames, striking up new ones, and, for some of us, making a last minute dash to Walgreens and hoping that the candy and greeting cards haven’t been completely picked over. Here at Mindslap, we initiated a courtship with trendy local eatery Cast Iron Trading Co., and the sparks flew (and we got it on video)!

Situated near the Mindslap offices in the historic Belding Building, Cast Iron Trading Co. has quickly become a downtown fixture, hosting concerts, group yoga and other special events that appeal to local artists and entrepreneurs. It’s quickly earned its reputation as a key component of the effort to revitalize Stockton’s downtown, beginning just over a year ago as a vendor at the open air Stockmarket.

Mindslap appreciates every opportunity to collaborate with other businesses that were built ground-up here in Stockton, and when shooting our Valentine’s Day video, Cast Iron Trading Co. appeared as an ideal location, with its modernized-retro aesthetic and attractive interior. Co-owner Eric Lee reciprocated Mindslap’s interest in shooting on location at the restaurant, where we had film rolling from 8:30 all the way until 10:00, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Special thanks again to co-owners Eric Lee, Tommy Mogan, and everyone at Cast Iron Trading Co. for graciously opening your doors to us, and making this Valentine’s Day unforgettable.
